Privacy Policy
Admit is a website for high school students applying to college and their families. Right now it's a waitlist. This page explains who can sign up, what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can ask us to delete it.
Who can sign up
- 18 or older: you can join the waitlist yourself.
- Students under 18: a parent or guardian must join for you. By joining, they agree to this policy and our Terms on your behalf. They can use their own email address or yours, as long as you know about it.
- Children under 13: Admit isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information, even with a parent's permission.
What we collect
- Waitlist: the email address, the date and time of joining, and, if you arrived from a link with a short tag in it (for example a link in our social media bio), that tag. This tells us which links people use. We also record that the person joining confirmed they're 18 or older, or a parent or guardian joining for a student.
- Contact form: your message and, if you choose to give it, your email address, plus the date and time you sent it.
- Basic server logs: like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records technical details when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you requested. These are used to keep the site running and secure.
What we don't collect
- We don't use advertising trackers or analytics cookies.
- We don't ask for your name, school, grades, or essays on this website.
- We don't buy information about you from anyone.
How we use it
- To send one email when Admit opens to the address that joined the waitlist.
- To reply to you, if you contacted us and gave an email address.
- To understand roughly how many people are interested and where they heard about us.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only with the services that run this website:
- Vercel hosts the website and stores waitlist sign-ups and contact messages in private storage.
- Google Fonts provides the fonts on this site. When your browser loads them, Google receives your IP address.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
The tools on the home page
The first lines lesson, the plan builder, the word counter, the season pass picker, and the countdown all work only inside the page while it's open. What you type or pick isn't saved in your browser, stored by us, or sent anywhere. It's gone when you leave or reload the page. If you use the button to send Admit to a friend, your device's own share menu or clipboard handles the link.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist emails until Admit opens and we've sent the launch email, or until you ask us to delete yours, whichever comes first. We keep contact messages only as long as we need them to answer you.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you what we have about you, correct it, or delete it. Send a request through the contact page and include the email address you used. We'll handle it as soon as we can.
Students under 18
A parent or guardian who joined for a student can ask us at any time to show, correct, or delete that information, using the contact page. If we learn that a student under 18 joined without a parent or guardian, or that a child under 13 gave us information, we'll delete it.
When the app launches
Before accounts, paid plans, or the AI coach go live, we'll update this policy to explain what the app collects (such as college lists, drafts, and any voice recordings), which companies process it, including AI providers, how long we keep it, and how parents and guardians can review and delete their student's information. Students under 18 will need a parent or guardian's consent to use the app. Admit's coach will be an AI system, not a person, and the app will always say so.
Security
Sign-ups and messages are stored in private storage that isn't publicly accessible. No website can promise perfect security, but we collect as little as possible so there's less to protect.
If someone floods our forms or tries to break into accounts, we keep that visitor's IP address for up to 30 days so we can block them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
